Polaroid Time Zero ManipulationΒ
In 2002, when it became obvious that film photography was to be replaced with digital technology, I picked up an SX70 Polaroid camera and loads of Time Zero film to make one-of-a-kind photographs. The people at Urban Dish, the restaurant just below my studio, saw my work, commissioned a piece and offered to let me hang my series there. It was during that show when a member of The Artists' Gallery in Frederick, asked if I would show the group my work to be considered as a member. I eagerly obliged and became a member of the gallery.
In this process, while the emulsion slowly hardened I directly manipulated parts of the film with a stylus to create the half photo/half painterly effect. It is now 2026 and Polaroids I still have show no signs of fading.Β
12" x 12" matted prints are available at The Artists' Gallery, and at Ti Arts.
